Thamserku (6808m/22,336') at sunrise
We got up at 6am so we could saunter up to the Everest viewpoint at the Sagarmatha NP headquarters beside our campsite. The skies were clear and we were treated to spectacular views.

Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8501m) and Nuptse (7896m)
Lhotse is the south peak and Nuptse is the west peak of Everest.

An army barracks is located right beside the viewpoint. Photography was not permitted of the barracks and because Kongde Ri (6187m/20,298') was directly across the field of view from the barracks, no one risked taking a photo in that direction.
We could also see Ama Dablam (6856m/22,493'), Kusum Kangguru (6369m/20,896') and Khumbila (5761m/18,920') but the light at sunrise was not particularly good for photographs. After an hour of enjoying the views, we returned back to camp for breakfast.
